Default Taking Flight

Hiya, I'm new here and I'm somewhat new to photography. I just got a new lens and captured a photo at what I think was Just the right moment!

Please give me some feedback on this image and if you like look through my gallery.

Nice picture! Is that a tight crop, or where you shooting a high ISO?

Somewhat yes, I think I cropped the equivalent to the current height out of the bottom and half of that on the top but the width was left pretty much alone. Thanks for the comment.

Nice to see you "taking flight" with photography. Really a beautiful picture taken right at a great moment. What lens did you get? The 300mm really makes a difference with them.

Wow, great timing. I like how the branch gives a solid visual base to the photo, and how there's muted greens over on the right.

To answer your question from Deviant Art about the type of bird, I'm no expert, but I have always called these "chickadees". Thanks to the internet, I have now learned that the proper name is "black-capped chickadee (Poecile atricapillus)".

Thanks everyone, I'm using a Quantaray 70-300mm f4-5.5 1:2 Macro lens

Yes I thought it was a chickadee, We have them everywhere all the time here. Thanks for the info; I'll update the description.

Yes It does sound like a plane thanks for the comment and for checking it out.
