Hi:
I took these photos at Mexiquillo's natural park. It's huge place with lots of natural resources, great for taking photos and a nice trip! I want to print one of these two photos but I'm not sure which one! Please vote so I can know your thoughts. Also please let me know your c&c about the photo, composition and how to improve it! Thanks for your time! COLOR PHOTO ![]() BLACK AND WHITE

The b&W doesn't pop like the color does. The black and white takes away I think. It looses it's definition....
So says me... Robert

I chose black and white. I quite like that version. Since the sky is cloudy, it looks so much more dramatic in the b&w. I might feel differently if the sky were blue with the sun shining on the rocks, etc., but as is, I think the b&w is really striking.

I voted b&w but I'm curious if my opinion would change with a different crop. I'm not a fan of all the extra rock at the base of the shot. When I scroll through the screen and chop off a part of that, I think it looks best in b&w. If you could take a bit off the sky as well as the rock and make this a panoramic shot, I think I prefer it in color. Just my two cents.

Thanks all for all your comments. I will play with different crops as some of you suggest. I must say I don't know much about black and white conversion on photoshop (Mainly I use black and white filter and play a little with it), so if someone of you knows a cool way to do it, I'll be glad to se your version. Feel free to edit!
Thanks again for your constructive comments!

The color for sure for me, and a bit of crop. I do wonder how it would look in digital simulated infrared....
I'm not real big on B&W except for certain themes....somber, old timey, etc., but that's just me. The trees remind me of some shots I've done at Medicine Bow in Wyoming. It's a beeutiful scene. Last edited by Thunderpup; 09-15-2007 at 03:05 AM. |

I voted for the color version. I think the water is especially wonderful in it's reflection, smoothness and color. Personally I can't think of a crop that could make the photo look better. It looks great. Thanks for sharing it with us. -NAT
