Default The promised Bee!

Because I'm visiting my girlfriend I had no much time to post pictures. Here is the promised Bee I told in a previous thread. Please let me know your thoughts and comments!
Hope you like it! hehehe. BTW it's a little bit hard to take pictures of bee. They are constantly moving from flower to flower. For my luck this was so happy with that pistil, which gave me enough time to shot it!

Great subject, great color, great framing. I would narrow the aperture a little to increase DOF. Were you shooting handheld? (I often do for these). I'm guessing you were using an 18-55 at 55mm and f/5.6? If you can stop down even a little you'll get more of the bee in focus. (Hair on the far side of his body is out of focus). You should be very proud of this, these little suckers are hard to catch!

Wow - that looks amazing! I love the colours too - very nice of him to stop on an orange flower!

This is a great shot! Personally I didn't notice the (hair on the far side) was not in focus. This is a pretty clear shot to me.
I was tilting my head to see the detail on the bee, so I would suggest that the photo be rotated to the left 90 degrees, but that is just me.
Great photo, wish I could get something this good. -NAT

Great catch! I too love the colors of the flower and bee working together. Maybe just stopping down one f stop would have left the entire bee in focus, but I think the picture works OK as it is. The large shot looks much better as you can see the bits of pollen stuck all over the bee.

Default I like it.

As much as I dislike bees, I like this shot... I like the DOF. You did this with a 55-200mm?????????
Nice photo.

Default Thanks for the comments!

Thanks all for your comments. Here are some answers to your questions:

newbie:
Yup, I was shooting handheld. It was really hard to get it, because they move so fast from one flower to another one. In this shot I was using some magnifying glasses, so focus it's a little bit more harder and since it was pretty sunny, depending on which flower the bee was standing, moving aperture continually was too hard for me, so I change it to auto mode. I will try taking more bee photos using manual mode and with better DOF. And for the lenses, you are right, I was using 18-55mm. Thanks for your comments!

NAT
I will play with the crops you suggest to see what's your point. Thanks for letting me know your opinion!

jrtmurph:
Nop, I used instead my 18-55mm. As I said to newbie, i was using magnifying glasses so I was easy using 18-55mm and also I could stand more close to the bee! XD

Thanks aadam_21 and shazzt. I'm glad you liked the photo!
