Default Picture: "Already Out" Critique

I thought this was a cool photo, but the people I've showed it to didn't realize at first that the background is a reflection from a window. How can I make it more obvious? Should I just leave it? Comments on the photo overall?

Welcome to the group. I see what you are talking about but IMHO the background tends to distract more than help whether it is a reflection or not. I like the lighting, expression and tonal qualities of the subject very much. I look forward to seeing more of your work.

I have to agree with clockdoc on this one. Without reading your description my first thought was to chop off the top. You might have a good little portrait here with some judicious cropping.

Thanks for the advice guys. I really wanted to tell a story with this pic, but it's just not obvious what's going on around her. She was first one out during a water balloon fight and I thought it was interesting that you could still see the other kids playing, but there's just no visual clues as to the rest of the scene.

Thanks again!

Sometimes you have to present other pictures alongside so that the combined series tells the story. The idea is neat but the reflections don't show anything more than a couple of people.

Also, if she was first out, how comes she is not soaking wet?
