Default Beautiful Jessica

After taking a good break from photography I finally got out and did a shoot yesterday.

430ex pointed in silver umbrella on the right hand side of Jessica. The wind was pretty band so I had trouble keep one light stand up. Wondering how it could of looked with a second flash.

Great shot. Killer subject!

I actually like the skin tones better on the left side without the flash. Her face, and right arm seem a little bright to me.

Hi Jason. The technical aspects of this shot are not up to your typically high past standards. While you are commended for using the flash away from the camera, in essence, you achieved the lighting effect similar to an onboard flash that tends to flatten all facial modeling (unless that is the look you were going for.) As Wood mentioned, the modeling and skin tones are much better on the side away from the main light. Perhaps a more harsh direct light (not bounced into an umbrella) would have worked better in this outdoor setting where you had additional available fill light from daylight.

Thanks for the comments.

I will definitely have to try this next time. There was in fact quite a bit of daylight left and I cant quite say I had much practice with flash in daylight setting.

trela, nice shot! been wondering where you're work is......
Jessica is beautiful but the hair along her back is distracting and as for lighting it looks plain. I like the shadows you normally have in your shots. Still a great shot though.....
When are we going s some more HDR? you had some greats!
