Was this a cloudy day? The DOF with aperture f/4.3 seems perfect and real gorgeous colours of the bloom in the fading landscape. I wish the the flowers were sharper, in the larger resolution the camera seems to have focussed on the leaves. I would have also liked to push the flowers to the corner to eliminate the top leaves and may be just bring the lower flower in front of the leaves manuallu and then take another shot.

Good shot!

I like the "S" curve in the background and its placement. The placement of flower looks just fine for me, I agree with Subrata, about the focus.

Ta so much, guys. Aye, it was a bit overcast that day... In fact, by the time I got home about an hour and a half after this was shot, it started to pour.

It did... I turned it in (along with 8 other pics), and got a 90 on the assignment.
I like the digital version better, though.

Excellent work! You have a good eye for composition by incorporating the "S" curve in the background.
Since I read from left to right, I tend to view images the same way. In your original, I initially see the flower, partly because of its position on the left side of the frame and also because of its color. But then the curve catches my eye and leads me all too quickly out the right side of the image. Just for fun, flip the image left to right and see how it looks to your eye. See if it makes any difference in how it keeps you within the frame a bit longer.
