Default Rockford Register News Tower

Here's one of my favorite buildings in town, the Register News Tower. It's definately one of my favorite subjects. Below is a color and black and white version. Please, by all means, critique away! In a separate thread, I'd like to post a series of these shots for critique too.

9 out of 10 times I pickt he black and white but I think for this one I prefer the color. I like the splash of flowers you left in the foreground, it really adds to the personality of this photo.
I thinkt he only thing I might have done diferently is to clone out the light poles and maybe, ok just maybe the building behind them as well.

The color shot is better in my opinion. The sky is reayy wonderful and adds to the shot.

I'm not a big fan of cloning out large chunks of landscape, so I'd leave the lightposts and building on the left.

I thought about that a great deal before writing it as I am also not a fan of cloning aout BIG articles but I really do think they take away the building you are supposed to be looking at. Or maybe I'm just prone to my eyes wandering that way cause I thought about it and therefore doing it.

I go with tha colour version too...

Though I would have framed it a little differently...the lighting on the flowers below is a little distracting...some bright some not...and I would either clone the building on the left and the pole else just shift the camera a little to the right...

I like the color version. The blue sky and the blue struts of the bridge create a subtle path for the eye to follow.

The tree in the upper right corner is a bit distracting to me. If there is a chance to take another photo, try getting the camera lower to the ground. Hopefully the tree can be removed. Including more of the foreground flowers would also be nice.

Trying different viewing angles can be rewarding.
