water crown

this shot was taken when i'm alone at home and have nothing to do as i'm not a full time photographer...how was it??

Waterdrops were last year's winter project for me when I felt trapped inside. There fun, but sometimes frustrating, things to try.
I think you got a pretty good catch on this one. I neve thought to have the drop hit a shallow surface like the bottom of a cup. Good idea! The scratchy stainless steel sink might distract from the drop a bit though.

berzerque69, Welcome

You might be ready for the next step: milk. Deep milk. You've got the action stopped; now you need the good properties of a more translucent material. If you fill an 8-inch cake pan, the depth will give a good crown, and the width allows you to shoot at an angle to include all milk, background too. Then after, you can have hot chocolate.

Nice crown effect on the base of the cup. I had a look at your other water drops in your Flickr album and was very impressed.

it was fun dealing with the crown but the risks is there too as we deal with water...hehe...bear in mind that all cameras are vulnerable to moisture...thehehe...actually i learn the shot for more than one week...for your information, i almost had my camera loss due to the moist...darn!!
