Much better! I like the contrast between the duck and the blue and it shines more to me now without the white in the corner. I'm still pretty green with PS, but is there some way to kind of "tone down" the blown highlight on his head?

Dodge / Burn tools? I always forget which lightens and which darkens. A bit of the right one on that duck's head and you'd be set.
In Elements both are available in the sponge tool.

Hi Todd
I also am also learning Photoshop, having found out how to use the "quick mask" tool I find it very useful even though it can be very time consuming sometimes. As you allowed your photo to be edited I did so using this tool and came up with the following adjustment to the "whiteness" on the duckies head..hope it is ok ![]()

Misconception: it isn't a blown highlight. In larger version, there is still color and even a slight shift in tone on rounded edge of the head. "Blown" will leave virtually no detail and generally little or no color.
While the edit works, it also takes away the natural sunlit light/shadow roundness. The red/orange bill does have small whited out highlights, a good detail to indicate the intensity and height of the Sun.
