You certainly captured the print well on the side of the lock. I would suggest cropping the unneeded parts out of the photo that are to overexposed and do not add any visual value to the image. Good eye to see the print on the lock. Did you do post processing to enhance the contrast?

An excellent shot! I agree that some of the extraneous imagery should be cropped out to further focus our attention on the print. I too am curious about post-processing work.

Excellent idea for a macro - well done!

Awesome idea for a shot! I'm still a newbie (and will be for quite some time), but agree with the others about croping to bring focus to the fingerprint only.

Great job!

My first instinct would be to crop out the blown-out highlights on the right, but I kind of like the length of the photo - sort of like imagining the line of lockers down the hallway. (I'm having flashbacks to high school!)

I wonder if it would be possible to keep the photo uncropped but tone back those highlights?

/edit - I hope you don't mind - I had a go at it in Lightroom and couldn't tone those highlights down enough. (I won't post the edit anywhere, since you don't give permission for such in your signature). I didn't like the shot as much when cropped, though. Maybe you could reshoot? The idea is great and the capture of the fingerprint is excellent.

Thank you for the comment and suggestion I really appreciate. Yes, I do a little bit enhancement on the image. And yes, you can edit and repost the updated image. Just include your explanation. Again thank you.
