I love the colors and textures of the old screwdrivers, but something about the perspective has me irked. I'm trying to think of what I'd rather see, and I'm not quite sure? Is it the Heineken box that bothers me? The "product of Italy" writing behind the box? They both caught my eye and distracted me from the very cool screwdrivers themselves.

Maybe a shot that fills the frame with just the screwdrivers? I'm not sure that from this perspective it could be cropped as such, but I think it's all of the non-screwdriver stuff in the photo that bothers me.

LOVE the screwdrivers though! They each look like they have a story to tell. I like that they all look like they're in the state that they were last used. It makes me wonder what their purpose and who held them to their tasks before tossing them in this box.

My first thought was why not just use the scewdrivers as the entire picture? Pretty neat concept but a bit too busy. I do think the green boz takes your eye away from what it is suppsoed to be looking at

kirbinster - I love those screwdrivers so much that I just had to see what it would look like without the other stuff. I hope you don't mind.

My Photoshop skills are WAY lacking (still learning!), so I'm sure this could be done much more professionally, but here's what I came up with:

kirbinster_tools

Now the purple in the top right bothers me, but otherwise, I like this composition better I'm not good enough with PS to get rid of that purple (I was thinking maybe make it the same green as the box? That seems to pull out some of the green in the screwdrivers anyway).

Very neat shot!

phlyersphan - I had to just go back and edit this post because you snuck yours in while I was posting this - we seem to have done the same thing

I liked the color having the Heineken box and the angle that I took it at, but I did ask for comments. There is not a lot I can do with it now without cropping out a lot, but I gave it a try - let me know what you think:

I was having the same thought with the box! I liked the green but the Heineken part bugged me. I just sort of painted out the logo on the box and kept a little of the green. You captured a much better angle of the tools with your crop

I like it!

I have to admit this is the first time I have seen a photo of a box of screwdrivers but I really do like the idea and the croppings some of you have come up with. After I looked at the image a while I thought this shot would make a great jigsaw puzzle artwork. Regarding the purple color in the upper right corner, try using Replace Color under Image>Adjustments>Replace Color (in PS 7.0). Thanks for sharing this shot with us. Nice work!
