It's kinda hard to describe....jets coming in low and fast from the north, I start firing, and in about six seconds, I'm rotating from left to right, at the same time tilting my head to almost straight up and then down, trying to track the jets perfectly, and focusing at the same time. Felt like a bad drunk. There was a guy behind me about 40 feet playing frisbee golf.........gave hime a good laugh. He yelled I hope you got the picture....I yelled back, I hope I did too.
Here's my own critique of my own image. I had attended the ceremony for several years sans camera. The flyover had always gone straight above the service, which takes place in a stand of pine trees. I positioned myself about 100 yards to the northwest, hoping to catch the planes with speed blurred pines underneath them. The planes obviously passed almost directly over my head. Bad positioning, makes possible awesome shot into ho-hum shot. Since is ho-hum, I figured to mess with it. I'm going to post this also in the before and after area.... |

Nice work on capturing the flyover. These aren't the easiest to shoot. Not sure about the "Corelized" final image. It appears a bit washed out on my monitor but if that is the final effect you were going for then that is what counts.

I was just trying to jazz up an otherwise boring picture. Tried it last night as a medium sized print. I was disappointed. I'll post the original later today...I'm running late. Have a date with a waterfall in Rocky Mountain National Park this morning.
