Default Dividing Line

I took this picture of my sister while we were walking around town. I'd like to hear what you guys think of it. This is my first submission so let me have it! lol

Welcome to the forum FotoMike,
The dividing line is a very apt name indeed. This is a very strange composition, the leaning pipe takes alll the attention of the viewer. It divides the picture into two dissimilar halves. If you want to change the subject, here's my suggestion, keep your sister in the frame completely without cropping out her feet, ask her to sit with only the grey wall behind and request her to turn her face towards the light. That's if you try to experiment again and she agrees to be your model.

Three words: Black and white.

Give it a shot and let us know what it look like.

I really like this. The different textures of the wall are appealing to me, and your sister looks deep in thought. The shadow over her face and her body language makes one think they're not all together happy thoughts? My only suggestion would be to crop this straight. It looks like the pipe isn't crooked, but the shop is leaning slightly to the right.

Let me straight out the dividing line & change your photography to sepia. Your composition idea is brilliant but falling gutter is a step too far, IMHO. I love texture and tonality, but colours not so much. I hope, you are okay with modifying your photo.

I like this photo, however I think it would look stunning in black and white. Perhaps cropped a bit too. I'm not sure about the cropping.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone. marcinK im not sure about the sepia tone, but i will try it in B&W and see how that pans out. And i guess i never realized how very crooked the photo actually is lol.
