i would take out the other bud at the side..i find it a bit distracting. I like the centre of the flower

nycgraphix,

Could you describe the lighting conditions when you took this?

I try to include very faint "extras" also, to keep the background from being stark black empty space. Also, going square with blooms lessens it. This is a good Macro, if a little gray.

Can you link me to any larger version of this please? Looks like strong light from top, was it flash? I agree with Jiminy, that the little extras add to the shot, in fact I was wondering if you have purposely lowered the brightness of the bud. For a bloom looking up and right, I would be tempted to put it on the left bottom and leave a lot of positive space on top. I like the texture of the petals here.
