Default First Black & White Abstract Picture

I believe the rings are used on fishing trawlers to sink the nets below the surface but as they are rubber have slight buoyancy to stop them sinking completely.
They were all bundled up on the harbour possibly to be discarded but they looked interesting.

I converted to black and white in Photoshop with levels and layers.

Comments most welcome.

Thanks for looking,

Gary.

Nice shot Gary. Personally, I think the focus should be on the foremost ring. I've thought a lot about this dilemma - how sad am I? And I've tried various such compositions. To my eye (yours may vary ) in shots like this, focussing on the nearest "thing" and putting it on the third works 90% of the time - except when it doesn't...

just my opinion
Brian

When I first saw this, I wondered about your focus choices. But I didn't really have alternatives to present to you and didn't make any comment.

So I appreciate brianfarrell's thoughts on this, and think they make a lot of sense.

cool abstract ,I love abstracts but as already stated where to place the main focus can be a delema ,so in picasa I tried the suggestion of making the first one the focus by useing soft focus on the first one and then sharpening the pic , I think they were right a great photo by the way as is .

I've always got confused in such cases, till i felt I have to somehow keep most of them in focus. Thanks guys, this thread has taught me something new.
