Default Concert Preparation

I'm way stoked about seeing my favorite band so I decided to prepare the stuff I'm taking to the show, and take a picture of it as well.

Camera: Canon EOS Digital Rebel XTi
Exposure: 0.017 sec (1/60)
Aperture: f/4.5
Focal Length: 31 mm
ISO Speed: 1600
Exposure Bias: 0/3 EV
Flash: Flash fired

The focus is a bit bad since I have some really cheap macro lens. New lens should arrive tomorrow though.

Sergio,

You have anticipation on your side, so this is a better photo in your eyes. The colors are interesting, but then it becomes a picture of printed paper. If it were held in two hands next to your heart, or next to a giant grin on your face, the paper would have meaning and impact.

Even more of an impact if I get to meet the band and I take a picture with them. But yeah I see what you mean.

I like it as a still life, though. It's got a good strong diagonal composition, and use of the DoF to focus on the event on the ticket. The only problem I've got is the distraction of the background objects at the top of the frame. Maybe sliding it down farther, so the background is entirely filled with the bright green would simplify and increase the impact.

Default Very Nice

I like the ide of non-concert conert photos. I hope you do get to meet the band, Angels and Airwaves is pretty awesome. I got to attend a Gin Blossoms concert last weekend and the lead singer used my cell phone! The conert pics can be fun and challenging, but make sure you look for audience shots and toher related things too. Have fun!! Keep up the good work!

I'm sure this is out of your reach but the best way to do this would be the following. Lay the ticket on top of an electric guitar and use a hot shoe flash and a softbox for the lighting. I like the zoom blur you got, whether intentional or not.

Thanks. It was somewhat intentional. I wanted a bigger aperture but I didn't have enough light. This would have let me have a bit more in focus.
