Parakeet

This is a rose-ringed parakeet, very common in this part of the world.

I took this shot on a very cloudy day (about a day ago). This is the processed version with probably exaggerated colours. Do you think the leaves pointing from the left are distracting? I placed the bird on the left, but then the right becomes an empty white background. I did not "sharpen" this photo. Will have to try that with Picasa and then do other processing in GIMP.

Any other suggestion is welcome.

The leaves are a bit distracting. Would be interesting to see how it would look without them.

I do think the leaves are distracting. Beautiful bird.

Too any sharp edges of the leaves and abundance of green leaves the parrot a bit lost. The white background also takes away a lot of goodness from the shot. I have seen some shots of a birds sitting on the topmost branch of a tree with faded sky, it looks really good.

I actually like how the pointed leaves frame the photo. At any rate, great bird!!
