Default Hanging On

I have one last flower hanging on to this stalk. I guess summer is almost over. Does it seem too dark? Any cc is welcome.

Hmm.. Composition looks okay, but the colours are a bit dull, though.

prrs4me,

It's close: even a little contrast could lose those nice white highlights in bloom. This is the third time I've looked at it; now it looks OK, because the buds are not very colorful naturally. I would experiment with a crop of right side and bottom, which will remove some of the darkness, and will make the bloom appear even a little brighter by virtue of its added size.

Thanks. I will give the crop a try. I had the same problem. When I adusted the contrast and brightness I lost the flower.

prrs4me,

If it's something you have time for and really want it lighter, isolating (selecting) only the bloom and removing it to a layer of its own, while lightening the stem and buds, could brighten the overall look. Haven't tried it, but it seems like a plan.
