Cool Purple

The Purple

What do you think about this picture? I particularly love it because of the shade of the sky and also because of the hen that is standing on the left. It gives a feeling that she is boss of the herd..

I like it, for the same reasons you do I know, that's not much of a critique, but IMO it's a cool shot!!

The "proper" way to frame a shot like this would be to have the top of the area a bit lower (1/3 of the way from the bottom) and to leave a bit more space for the hen on the left to "look into". Proper is not always better but it would be worth experimenting with that to see what you prefer.

I also like the color of the sky...was it naturally like that? how pretty. Too bad the hen wasn't lookin' the other way.... I also like how their 'roost' is organic looking, instead of more 'industrial' looking if that makes any sense...

Yup, it was naturally like this. No post-processing at all. Well, I have some idea of what you mean...but it would be nice if you could explain.

Cheers.

I totally agree with you there. I did not have much knowledge when I took the pic...but had you not commented on this pic I would not have thought of it. Thank you.

LOL...I meant that I like how the roof looks 'thatched' and of natural elements instead of like asphalt roofing tiles. I like it.
