I found these two while walking around town. I know something is off in this picture, but i just can't put my finger on it.. maybe the contrast?

Love the shot! Great colors, and I really like the textures of the wood and the pipe. The bear really does look lonely! Maybe the rabbit needs to go?

I'm a total newb, but I'm wondering if maybe you could use the rule about space where they are looking? So you'd end up with a shot with them to the right of the picture.

I think it's great. It has a sense of moodiness that I can understand right away.

About something that is off--I think it's the composition. I think if there was less space to the right and more space to the left would make a better composition. In other words, the subjects are not centered. If you decide on a different composition have it at least not centered. However, centered compositions work well with square frames if you decide to crop it.

meta,

There is more to the story? The title, "He Promised": is this a mislabel, or another aspect of the photograph? Visually, it leans to the red-and-dark side, and still has a good look for the subject and location.
