Undaunted

Took this shot by accident while making an on-camera video, but like how it turned out. All I did was crop a touch off of the left side and about a third of the picture (all water) off the right to give him more direction. I'd have liked to have caught his legs in the water, but alas, they were missing.

This was my 2 year old son's first purposeful foray into swimming. His first *actual* try was falling head first into this same lake earlier in the summer The kid thinks he is a fish.

too bad the water looks so darn murky but it is a great picture. Makes you wonder what he is looking at

I agree, and as the mother watching him put his face in it, I wish it weren't so murky (dirty) either!

I agree its a great shot, I also thought when I first saw it, wonder what he is looking out, followed closely by, not sure I would want him any further in the murky water

To me it really says 'undaunted', especially with the way his hands are and his posture. Very nice picture. Obviously as you say there are things that can make it better, but not everything falls into place evertime. The moment makes up for everything else.
