A different shot for me, but... Well, I thought I had captured the trees on each side framing the old school, but when I imported it I realized I had screwed up. It would be better, in my estimation, if indeed the trees were framing on both sides and top. I also would like to try this shot while shooting from a prone position on the ground, and closer to the school. I'd like to try catching that sharply angled roof (A style) and branches going up.

EXIF: Nikon Coolpix E4200, ISO 200, 14.9mm, 1/130 at f/3.7, No Flash, handheld.

Thanks!

hey scampi... nice idea.. thou what u mentioned above would make it better..
another point - the sky is kinda overexposed .. maybe you could try and lower the exposure and see how it comes out..

Including the tree on the right may or may not make a big difference, the protruding shed on the left of the buliding seems to balance the two trees on the left. Including the pointy roof will be nice to compare as well as the right tree. The sky is definitely overexposed. If you can get a nice tonal variation in the sky by shooting at a more appropriate time or with exposure it will be a stellar picture.

I agree with the sky being a tad overexposed and the horizontal line is just a tad of balance as well. Or maybe the house is sinking?

Thanks for the thoughts folks. Yes, the sky is overexposed. Hard to expose this image. I need to go back at a better time of day. I'll try to correct the horizon line, the school looks pretty weak structurally, so maybe it is leaning! This was one of those situations where you're driving along without a care in the world and see something you want to try to take a good shot of... then realize you only have a point and shoot that is old, beaten up, and with little flexibility.

I'll definitely need to go back.

Thanks again!
