Hi kelly,

The spider's red band on jet black can be interesting if you try to keep the entire body (including the hind legs) in focus. Then crop out the leaves and branches as much as possible, close in on your main subject. May be change of angle will help, f/5.6 is ok.

I'm glad there are no spiders like that in my backyard lol! or I would need to go out with some RAID. I saw in the EXIF data that flash was not fired. Try to use it in the next time, so you can capture a little bit more detail of the spider, in this case, his body.
