Beautiful blue color. DOF is pretty good, but a bit more blur to the background might have helped blend the business more. Cropping is very subjective and personal, but I think if you cropped it so you are highlighting the flower on the left (the one most in focus), it would keep your eye from wandering all over the image.

Yes on the crop, and if you did a third one tighter, that would also be good. What people hate is as fascinating as what they like: any further thoughts on why so strong a feeling against cropping?
