Well personally I quite like it! It would be better if she was smiling though.

But if she's anything like me, it'd be hard to get a smile out of her!

Hi lancer:
I like the picture a lot. Maybe just getting her a little bit more two the right will have show the entire shoulders, I don't knwo if I'm explaining myself, lol. Anyway, here some adjustments I made in photoshop to get a little bit more contrast, and color saturation. Used, levels, curves and hue/saturation layers!. Hope you like it! Great picture and thanks for sharing it!

unfortunately, she doesn't look very happy and the light isn't flattering. with the background, it seems like the focus should be on the house, but half the house is behind her head, then some is behind the bush. to the right of the flagpole are posts (?) that don't seem to add anything. if you were able to move over more to your left so the entire house would be in the background and either add a reflector to your right to bounce more light on the left side of her face, or turn her so the sun's not bothering her. the number of people in the reflection on her sunglasses is also somewhat distracting.

Thanks for all your input... However, just so you know how this was taken.
we were on a camping trip about 2.5 hours north of my home. this site the photo was taken at was a museum site, the building in the back is an old school house. Yes behind the flagpole are posts... I can remove them to make the photo more appealing, and try to remove the reflection in the glasses. The reason she is not smiling, is cause we were standing on a dock and gust of wind popped up.

You also mention reflector... I dont own one, well most of my photos are not setup or posed, they are just people in natural state.

However I to appreciate all your thoughts and ideas... will post a new version in a day or so for your review.

Thanks again.

my $.02

there's a differnce between photographs and snapshots. for the most part, people post photographs here in which they actually composed a shot and thought about certain aspects of it (rule of thirds, lighting, composition, etc)... not just snapping a picture randomly and hoping for the best.
as for people in a natural state (photojournalistic), those shots should tell a story without words....
