I took this picture late at night with not much light. I didn't know how to get rid off the chair completelly - help please. I found it very hard to take a nice picture of my husband, but I like his look on this one. Please just tell me how to make a better pic. Thanks

A couple things I have done in the past is you can use a bed sheet for a backdrop. Its cheap easy and all you have to do it weigh it down ont he corners or tape it up. Of course a basic one color sheet works best. That takes away the problem of extra stuff in the background.
And alway try to make sure you have plenty of lighting. Unles you like the shadows of course

I think it's a nice shot! If you really wanted to get rid of the chair from this particular shot you could with the clone stamp and patch repair tools in Photoshop.

For future shots you could definitely plan ahead with sheets, etc. Lights and simple backgrounds are key to good portraits!

For this shot though - nicely done!!

I think it would be better if his eyes were open. You could also do a gaussian blur for the background, or just replace it.

your mister is a nice looking guy.....

you've had enough suggestions about how to get rid of or avoid annoying backgrounds......but, i would like to suggest you look into a few tutorials on portraits....there's a rule i read somewhere when i was researching before a session that in a three quarter pose the line of the nose shouldn't break the line of the far cheek....

thanks for the shot....
