Tonight this huge moon showed up, so i tried to take a shot. The pic is a little blurry, because it was done with a slow shutter speed, and i didn't manage to get myself a tripod yet, so it was difficult standing still .) yet i'd like to know what y'all think .) no modifications done, except the size of the photo.

meta, Welcome

Here's a short thread on settings for shooting the moon. If you look at "Search" above also, there are many discussions and much more information.

How to get good quality moon shots

Well you spotted a very striking scene, but your camera's metering let you down a bit -- the shutter speed is so slow that 1) you have very noticeable blur and 2) the moon is quite blown out.

Next time, even if you are holding by hand, try a shot on one of the automatic modes, but then go to manual and strike off on your own. Open up the aperture, and see how fast a shutter speed you can get away with. The moon is actually quite bright, and you may be surprised at the shutter speed you can get to.
