I am new to the whole photgraphy scene. To me the composition looks great, but definitely the image can be straightened. If it is a blue stone angel then that's all it should need. But, I could'nt help but try to change the sculpture to stone color, and also straighten it.

I like the edit version! Oniromante, could you please help us with your camera setting, especially the white balance setting?

Oniromante,

You can get your camera setting information in flickr. If you click on your shot in landing page there will be a link "More Properties" under additional information section to the right side of the screen.

If you click on "More Properties" it will show the camera setting like Exposure,
Aperture,Focal Length, ISO Speed,Exposure Bias and other. "Light Source" will proovide information about your white balance setting.

Hope this helps!! Otherwise just do share link to your flickr account.

Unfortunately that info seems to have been lost from the file. I tried by uploading it to picasa and the result is the same = 0 data.

Now I'm editing it with a free software, PhotoFiltre. I'm trying to learn how to do it for getting to the same result that pcarfan has achieved. Can I get some tips about how can I do this? The best I could to until now is selecting the sculpture and using the hue variation, can anyone tell me if I am doing this right?

This is how it remains so far, but I'm still working on it and trying to learn how to use the software (these are my first attempts with photography and with digital photography as well):

I hope somebody can help me. And sorry if I am being anoying

I've been learning photoshop for only about 4 weeks, but very intense learning though. You don't have to select and change hue in this instance. The entire image has a blue cast. This usually happens when the white balance (WB) is off. Being blue, I think it's called "cooler".

So, with photoshop CS2 in levels you can pick the middle eye dropper to set gray point and just click at a spot that should be neutral gray and it changes. Once the major chang is done I used curve, lighting effect, saturation etc. to get the surface texture.

In lightroom and I think CS3 (lets you work JPEG image in the RAW window) you can just pick the WB wand and hover over the image as it corrects the white balance. Also, many other ways of doing so.

I don't know how photofilter works, but do a google search on how to correct white balance for that software and you should find your answer. I did most of my learning with google.

This is how the picture looks so far, thanks to you

Hey! you are doing great. I am certain with a few weeks of learning you'll be able to learn a lot. You are already doing great, and the learning curve is very steep. At the beginning all the different symbols/terms in these softwares look complicating, but if you just dive in and start reading they'll start to make sense very soon.
