Default a European garden spider

I took this spider in my front yard - I had seen it every morning when going to my car. Then last day when I came early home from work I decided to take this picture. I first tried to place my tripod - but I hit the web - and the spider was scared! - and moved closer to its hideout. To ensure that I did not hit the web again - I removed my tripod - and took the picture.

The camera is a canon powershot s3is in super macro mode with aperture f/2.7, shutter speed 1/100s and ISO 80.

Because of the narrow DOF (because of the super macro mode) - the legs are out of focus. Do you think this is a problem?

Other comments?

It's not a problem for me. Great shot. Might like to see a little more of the web but it's great the way it is.

Gah, that is one ugly bug. Good photograph (I think, I scrolled pretty fast... ok, bracing myself for spiders and scrolling back up). Ok, I don't think that the legs are too much of an issue because so much of the spider is in really sharp focus. So it looks good. I don't think I would want to see more of the web because then the spider wouldn't be as much of a focus.

You are an inspiration to me. I have an S3 IS myself but can't get near this good of a shot out of it. Often times I want to go back to my older point and shoot that I understood completely...

Great shot (though I HATE spiders!)!
