nice shot here. Only thing that annoys me is the fact that her hair/head blends in too much with the background. I dunno if that is the look you were trying to achive but to me it looks like a headless woman.

I am not sure I agree with RexK although I do find your shot shocking (in the sense that I feel anxious to see the womens face) I think that is precisley what makes it great! Something like lost identity or as if she is hiding from something shameful (perhaps a broken heart) is what I see in the picture. Maybe a little more space on the left side of the shot could take the headless sensation that Rexk sees.

RexK saludos desde México D.F.!

I think you're right. I went for a blanket treatment instead of working on bits of the picture, which resulted in the the headless look. The original intention was to show a picture with her face obscured, so she can be anyone you think she is, hence the title 'Canvas'.

I'll see if processing it differently will help. Will post it at a later date.

Noted. I don't remember cropping the photo, so I don't think I can create more space on the left though.

I like your interpretation of 'lost identity'. I'll post a picture of the model with her face shown at a later date to give rest to the anxiety this picture has caused.

Cheers!

i love the treatment of this shot...and call me strange, but i especially like how the hair is the background is the hair......in fact....if her bodice was in black, i think it would be even more striking....

tell me something....i can't tell on this monitor if the shot is black and white.....or tinted pinkish.....

Hey peep,

It's all gray. and your comment about how the hair melds into the background just gave me another idea for a shot. Black lacy bodice, blood red lipstick, and hair that fades into the night... yummy!

Actually, there's one in the Portraits section of my gallery. It's a little out of focus though.

I just saw your shot I like it I think the out of focus dramatizes it. I have completed my story! Thank you.
