Default My First Post

I am new to DPS and so excited to be on board! I recently bought my first camera, a Nikon D80. As my first photo shoot, I borrowed one of my Father-n-laws firebirds (he has 5) to photograph. I was trying to capture a different angle on the fender to make the car look a little more aggressive.
I am new to photography and the editing programs so this makes me nervous posting with so many talented people BUT I must start somewhere. I'm excited to hear what you have to say so, Please critique my shot.

Well I would say for your first camera and one of your first shots you have no where to go but down That is a nice shot! The only thing I might like seeing is if you cropped it just before the headlights so only the shiny fender shows in the front.

From what I can see of it the photo looks pretty good. I wish there were a larger version on here so that we could give a better critique. It if hard to see much detail in a photo that small.

Default Bigger Bird

Thank you for your comments. I did make the photo a bit bigger, I hope that might help too see the image better. Kirbinster, I played with the cropping a bit, with the crop at the fender with no chrome or headlights I think it took away from the picture-I'm not sure if that's where you meant, or to the right side of the lights, where I did bring it in and I did find that better. I appreciate the time you both took to look at it.

The photo looks pretty good from what I can see of the larger version. There are some artifacts from the image that I can see. It is probabbly because you chose a pretty low quality image to post here. Anyways the line running thru the turning signal is annoying also there is something in the windshield that is distracting. Some spots on the driveway could be cloned out if you really want to be picky. Also try shooting earlier in the day sometime if you get the chance. I think the light would be better so that you dont get a completely overexposed sky in the background.

Thank you Rex for your input. That's what I love about this forum, I am so new to this that all of those things I would have never noticed. I will go out and re-shoot and try to do better! Thanks again!
