Default Air Force

Photo from the MAKS-2007 (International Avia and Cosmonautics Salon in Zhukovsky - city near Moscow).
This guy is from USA Air Force team. Their group brings several military planes to this exhibition, but these pilots are much more popular, than their planes

dbf, Welcome

This portrait is good in composition and framing. The lighting is muted, making the pilot less colorful. Sky is gone, something you could change in edit, and next shot. Though seeing the eyes would be ideal, it's understandable a pilot would have glasses on. A less focussed background would help to bring subject forward. Overall, pretty good.

Hi dbf,

I think Jiminy was meaning something like this

I practised a bit with your shot without permission, sorry for that.

I masked the portrait and used Gaussian blur, but lens blur is better. I also played with the levels to improve the light and redness. Then I sharpened using unsharp mask.

I'm just a newbie here, but I thought the editing of the image made a world of difference- the coloring and the background changes made the subject "pop" out.
