Default Another try - corn on the cob 2

Ok

So here's another version: finger is back in, but I still can't figure out how to fade out the background. I think I said this before- I'm a total beginner with Photoshop, only had it for 12 days...

Can anyone take my picture and do something with the background, just to get an idea? Please?

Thanks again,
Andreea

not sure how you wanted it faded but here is just a simple blur. You can get all kinds of artistic stuff going on but I think you probably just want the adorable child to stand out a bit more.

Corn baby DPS

here is a very quick rough edit at what I was talking about. What I did was create a duplicate layer then I masked out the child leaving only the background. I then darkened the background a little and added a guassian blur of around 30 pixels. very quick and simple of course if you want the picture to be cleaner then you will have to spend more than 2 minutes on the masking part.

Anyways on viewing the larger version on your flickr site it seems that you over sharpened the eye a bit. it seems grainy when viewing the large version of the photo. Hope it helps. if you need more detailed instructions on how to do the effect just send me a pm.

Great looking kid!

I don't exactly know why, but I love the colors in this picture. The background could be blurrier, yes, but it doesn't take much from the photo in my opinion.

The one thing I think would greatly enhance this shot is that he should be holding the corn thing (I don't know the word for that, poor english ... sorry), instead of it just laying over his hands like that.

But it's beautiful anyway.
