Default Lichen

Lichen on a brick; Blue paint flaking away.

EXIF:
Camera: SONY D-SLR A100
Lens: SONY 100mm MACRO
Setting: f/22, 0.067 sec (1/15), ISO 100
Post: Colour enhancement via Channel Mixer adjustment layer in PS.

I'm still having trouble getting any sharpness out of this lens even with the tripod and cable release. Maybe I'm being too critical; it looks ok on my computer screen.

Looks sharp to me.

I tried a bunch of lichen shots on a recent trip to a Maritime climate. I didn't end up liking any of them. I think I just couldn't figure out what light was right for shooting the stuff -- we had nice sun the whole time, so maybe flat overcast suits best.

porterd2nz,

Can't address sharpness at this size. Colors are very good, although close to that "too much yellow" green on the edges. After I gave up wanting my Fuji to perform like a Nikon, the sharpness seemed just fine, compared to anything I'd taken before. Are you comparing yours to those Flickr masterworks?
