gns1497,

Trying to like this. Water's well done, foliage color is rich, composition is OK. It's just dull, in the tonal sense, as if the Sun were covered in many layers of clouds. A single lighted area could serve as a subject, but lacking that, it's a generic woodsy scene. In looking for something to focus on, the sign in upper left draws me to it. If there were a person on the bench, an edit could put light there and create a story of some sort.

The river was really my main subject. I agree, it would have been better with rays of light, such as when the sun was directly over head, and beaming down in certain areas through the trees. This was taken late in the day. I'm going back to this spot in a couple weeks and will definately try again.

gns1497,

What is in foreground, where your feet are? To feature the flowing water, it might do better raised closer to third line, less sky in b/g. And same for left side.

I think I've got room to take more of the sky out. I wasnt thinking about all of this when I originally took the shot. I'm definately going to try it again in a couple weeks.
