I think you did a lovely job focusing on her eyes and going in for a tight shot. I'm not too crazy about that black thing in the left background. Maybe you could edit it out.

You did a great job capturing her expression but the black pbject in the back has got to go. I really like the heart ring that is just barely in the picture but stands out just like her eyes.

With the eyes wide open and so little context the head looks as if it could be decapitated! Sorry - not the most pleasant description but do you see what I mean?

I think it would be worth making more of the ring. If the camera was moved a bit to the left and rotated a touch to the right, you could include that deliberately rather than looking as if it was just caught by accident, lose the black object (hi-fi speaker?) in the background and show that her head is securely joined to her body!

Untitled-1 copy

another go unfortunately the only picture ive got on this angle as the first onem, so i cannot remove the "decapitation" effect... im having a little trouble removing the speaker tho... as you can see the area is now bright white.

please could someone explain to me how you would remove it. all i did was clone stamp the area out then add a smudge / burn

Just to prove she isnt decapitated:

Terri again

Excuse the messy clothes.... i was packing to leave her

That was a sad day.

I like the edit with the speaker gone... and the fact that my arm is there so you can see I'm resting on it. I wish I could tell you how to fix that white spot, tho. Regardless, you know this is one of my favorite pics, baby.

UK_tomcat_fan,

The background can be cloned away with a big brush and by following the gradation on the wall. A flat color fill usually looks like what it is. With the interest in the ring and the decap-view, I added some hand and arm (still cloning). One layer of gradient darkening in the lower right emphasizes the opposite light from upper left. Other bits of cloning just take away distractions. Hope this is still as you like it.
