Default Critique My Shot

This shot won me 1st place in a local art contest , any suggestions on how I could have made it better ?

Nice shot. If you try to get more parallel to the creature, you will be able to get the wings in focus as well as the head. If you stop the aperture down, this will increase the DoF also. I can't see what aperture you used (no exif on image.) It's always a problem with these shots with limited depth of field... unless you spend $$gazillions on glass

ISO: 80
Exposure: 1/320 sec
Aperture: f/3.2
Focal Length: 15.6mm

As I suspected, you have used a wide open aperture at f/3.2 which limits the depth of field.

I don't know this camera - if you can control the aperture, then I would try setting it to f/8 as a starting point for these closeup shots... and get parallel to the body of the insect as I said before.

It's still a good shot though and I like it

Just had a look at your album - you have some cool shots there...

Thank you so much ,I shoot in Pasm ,so I could have set it heigher ,thanks for the tip . Glad you liked some of my shots , not sure what album ,I do like to do things that are a bit different ,and have yet to decide what I like best .
