Default Spider!

I took this last week. It took me ages to even get a clear shot, just figuring out how to use my new camera properly you see. This is pretty much the best one. I would like tips. Is this one of those situations where it is best to have the subject in the middle? Because I tried cropping it where it was to the side but it didn't look.. right.

SPIDER!

Chlobo,

While framing in viewfinder, if you get an interesting angle to the spider, centering is OK. The extra bright streak (lower left) is less OK. Body is good, would stand out more if background were more OOF. Try larger aperture.

Thanks Jiminy. I only understood about half of your post but it's all good.

I didn't really notice that bright streak, which is quite weird.. but now that you mention it I do and I really don't like it. I found another photo of the spider, do you reckon this one is better? Personally I think it is. Even though it's still not a good photo, but, yes, better.
Spider again.
