I took this at work(I work on the Mississippi River) & thought it turned out kinda neat.Sorta old timey lookin'.

Nice job imo. You can replace the sky later if you want. and if you replace the sky dont forget its reflection on the water. just a lil bit of reflection.
You have to adjust the contrast.

Colors are very washed out and bland looking. could be because it was a foggy day or something in your camera settings.. Anyways the horizen is not straight either. Composition wise perhaps a little more room infront of the boat putting it more off center would have been nice. That little boat or whatever it is in front of the other boat is distracting IMO I would consider cloning it out. Other than that looks good.

I like it as is . As you said kind old fasion look to it. Have you tried it in BW or sepia? Nice I like.
