I took this at sunset in February overlooking the harbor. It was taken with an E-300 without a tripod, using the 14-45mm lens. Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks

Nice picture of Swan Lake. Some cropping would help direct attention better -- how to crop? That would be your personal taste.

Seems like the colors could be boosted just a touch, but not too much because the gray of the sky gives an interesting mood. almost like Edward Teach himself was about to sail back in on the Queen Anne.

Thank you for the reply. I agree some cropping would make it better, but when doing so would you consider the rule of thirds? And what would be the main object of the shot? The sunset?

Love the almost monotone colors in this shot. For me the subject of the shot is the sunset. Well done for not using a tripod.

Nice picture. I think it would be a little better if the three posts at the bottom were taken out.

The suggestion to crop out the posts in the bottom is good. But just above the far right one -- should preserve the color on the water.

I would consider cropping out the light on the right as well. Keep the cloud swirel (?sp) on the left as that makes a nice "frame".

Try to keep the horizon in the lower third, almost half but not quite.

Definately agree with the crop. That alone will help with what I found most distracting, the vingetting and the lens distortion.
