![]() Here we go... some Water Drops + Plant 'macro' action. I was really just trying to test out my new Tamron 70-300mm zoom lens, and got this nice picture. Questions: Is the depth of field too shallow? Should I not have cropped so tight? Note: this is a handheld shot, in case anyone's wondering.

When you take photos like this you're never going to get great depth of field and be able to hand-hold the camera for the shot.
But this isn't too bad. The OoF leaves are away from the main subjects, mostly. The bug, though, has terned into an alien. I would have gone for more separation between it and the water drop.

I didn't even know that bug was there when I took the picture! It was hard to see in the light - I think the light was coming from up and in front of me, which 'blinds' my viewfinder since I wear glasses and can't take them off due to my astigmatism.
