Candid: flowing hair

Took this at lunch on our mini roadtrip to Baldinger's in Zelienople, PA (pronounced like "silly-nople") for excessive amounts of candy. One of my best friends on the planet, I love her to death. I was shooting from the hip and she didn't really know, so I had to crop/rotate, I think it may still be a bit crooked. Obviously, 1600 introduces sensor noise, but I didn't want to use the flash.

ANYWHO, I just really love the curve and motion of her hair, but I can't figure out why.

I agree. The way the hair curls under her chin has an immediacy and playfulness to it. I do find the light above her shoulder a bit distracting. If you crop so all you see is the face and hair, it would be more contained.
