Default World Famous Skyline

Was in Pittsburgh this evening shooting, what else, trains when i decided to hang around and try my hand at some night photography. I am sure everyone has seen the skyline from Mt. Washington in pictures. here is it. a 13 second exposure on a clear night. i think it came out good.

Wait, where's the train? lol

It looks good, but... of course there's a but, right? The lights on the left are really blown out. Forgive my lack of knowledge about the skylines of PA, I've only been to Pittsburgh once for a concert (when I was living in NJ), so I really didn't see much of the city. So, is that a stadium where the lights are really bright? Otherwise I really like this shot, I think the rest of the city lights are really nice and clear, and you've managed to fill some of the areas that had the potential to be dark with the road and the bridge. So, overall, nicely done.

World famous to me Nic, but then again I live near it. Yeah, I think that's the baseball stadium on the left.

Pittsburgh is a beautiful city to photograph. It's surrounded by rivers and you can get up high on the hills surrounding it to get a great perspective. I think you did pretty well with your shot, but Nicole is right about the bright lights being somewhat distracting. Bound to happen with a longer night exposure. I like the lighted bridges and their reflections in the water.

Nice to see you expand your photographic horizons.

I like the shot - good control and exposure here. A nice graduated NDF would help control the lights on the side or just composing without them in the shot. I feel there is a touch too much sky here - but otherwise, this is excellent.
