Anyone have any good tips on getting sunrise shots. I don't do them very much, but I would like to try more.

Nice Shot. I lived in Galveston for a few years before I was into photography. It's a place that can be quite photogenic if you look hard.
![]() I personally like the exposure and color on your shot, but some options for getting more foreground detail (if you want that) would be: 1) an ND grad filter. This is a neutral density filter on the top half, which blocks a pre-set amount of light without altering color (usually in number of stops from 1 stop to >20). The bottom is clear. It lets you open the shutter a little longer or wider to get a more exposed bottom half of the picture while still capturing the sun as you did. 2) Same idea but in photoshop. You need to expose corretly for the brightest part of the picture (as you did) and then play with curves in photoshop to selectively brighten the darker half. All that aside, I like the photo how it is.
