Hi. Can you tell us a little more about how this was shot (camera, lens, ISO, aperture, etc.) Your main subject seems a bit over exposed but if you want to "doctor" the background some you could try the 'blur' filter or 'smudge' function if you have Photoshop or a similar program. Let us know how it works out. Be sure to check the background of every shot as sometimes changing the angle slightly my help avoid conditions like this.

I find that the bright background in the bottom half of the frame is very distracting. even though it is blurred out you typically do not want bright spots in your background as it will have a tendency to draw the eye away from the subject. I think that by cropping out the bottom half of the image it will be much stronger.

Assuming the original is large enough to give you some room to play with, I think cropping it closer to the main subject would be a very good idea, making the focal point clearer, bringing out the details and cutting down on the distractions.
