Welcome to this forum!

I visited Madurai temple long back, and there is good Architectural details. Your shot and the others in your flickr account inspired me to visit the place again.

Coming back to your shot, seems little overexposed to me as the color details looks washed out. How about using portrait orientation highlighting only main subject?

I agree, focusing on the main subject would work better for this image. You still might be able to crop and do some pp work on it? Im dont use post processing so I really dont know.

Often times with photos like these I tend to find a detail on the main piece to focus on and do a macro type shot around that small detail. Just me though.
