Minnesota Lightning

My first try at lightning, I went out in a storm with a friend and we sat out on this tower in our city.

I still need to do this someday, I can't wait for a storm! It looks so awesome! I'd like to see a bit more of the city in the foreground, but I'm sure it's really hard to do.

Wow! Great capture - wonder how it would look if you cropped a bunch of the lower city out - there's not much going on there in any case. Great blue.

Did you know that lightening travels up, not down?

How did you make the exposure? Tripod, open lens? How?

Set on a tripod, and I would do 8 second bursts trying to get the lightning, it was fun 'cause you would push the shutter and then some lightning would go and you would hope it showed up well.

Shutter Time: 8 seconds, Aperture: F5.6, ISO: 200
