Default First "macro" shot.

It's not exactly macro, but it's a definite close up. Please tell me your opinions. I'm an amateur, but I not only want to make this a hobby but also a profession. I just bought my first DSLR four months ago.

Default Right Track

You're doing good so far, but I would recommend a tighter crop and perhaps a different positioning of the subject. Good Depth of a field and focus, and very elegant, with a good capture of a hard to photograph subject. You're on your way!

Very nice shot. I like the angle and the colors are great. One suggestion: try a square crop.

I know how hard it is to take decent images of insects and butterflies. Too much background for me. Great colours.

Nice shot.
Try a crop to focus on the Damsel fly itself.

The back ground is a little distracting.
Looks like some one got ticked off at the size of your posted pic.
Read about sizes for posting so some of the members dont get their knickers in a twist.

Haha, thanks guys. I will post smaller photos next time. Great critique here. Btw, taykuyphotoart, I didn't find you as being ticked off. Seemed like just a gentle reminder to me. Once again, thanks guys.

Nice shot - you did well to get this close to a Banded Demoiselle - I've always found them very skittish!
