Mossy Tree

The moss-covered base of a tree deep in the woods of Maine.

Shot in Macro Mode, no flash, with everything else set for automatic. Shot with my trusty Sony DSC-F707 with a UV filter. I adjusted the brightness histogram and did an unsharp mask in Paintshop Pro X. I think I may have bumped up the saturation just a tad, too.

I'm new at this, and eager to learn. Any suggestions?

Yes that works for me .a rule I try to keep in mind is if it does not add to the photo crop it out if you can ,or if it distracts ,for me I try to look at a photo with an open mind and see where that leads the eye,and what distracts from that . it is also easier to do this with someone elses work as you know nothing about the shot only what is there .doing this can help you a lot with your own photos .
