Lens Shot

I was playing around trying to get my lights just right for use with some product shoots i need to complete.

I took one of my lenses and here are my results. Please tell me what you think of it.

Great Shot. The detail and focus are amazing. I've never did this type of photograpy but what I think is that there are lights on both sides which causes a shadow right down the front of the photo it was slightly distracting to me.

Hey, I've got one of those!

If I may suggest leveling the subject; I think the shot is slanted a little to the right.

I like the way the texture on the flower petal hood is captured.

From the reflection on the 'DX' marking, I wonder if the lens should be rotated away a little to avoid that reflection.

For real nit-picking stuff, I suggest removing even the smallest dust from the product before shooting.

I think it's a cool shot!

Excellent suggestions and I completely agree about the slant as well as the DX reflection. First things to catch my eye.

Nice shot. I don't know what you were trying to do regarding DoF, but I'd be tempted to drop an f/stop or two to bring the base and definately the lens labelling into sharper focus and maybe the back of the lens hood.

I'm currently looking at doing something similar at the request of my insurer. Since I stipulated full replacement they want to know exactly what they're up for.
